Deportivo kept up their push for the European places, a 4-1 victory over Recreativo taking them to within two points of Real Madrid and Villarreal. Lopo gave them an early lead when he deflected Ze Castro's shot past Riesgo, and Sergio made it two from the penalty spot after Lafita was brought down in the area. And although Colunga got one back with a second penalty, Bodipo restored the two goal cushion before the break with an impressive header from Filipe's cross.

Poli did well to keep out a Lopo header soon after the restart, and Aranzubia was in action at the other end to save from Camuñas. Depor could have added to their lead after that though, Bodipo, Lafita and Riki all failing to convert chances, and with the game coming to an end Filipe completed the rout when he ran on to beat Riesgo for a fourth time.
