Deportivo kept up their good recent run, and they moved above Villarreal in to the top six after a 1-2 victory at Getafe late on Sunday night. Bodipo opened the scoring in only the sixth minute, volleying a shot past Pato Abbondanzieri after Lopo had headed across a corner. Both keepers had work to do soon afterwards, Aranzubia tipping a shot from Casquero round the post and Pato saving from Lafita, and with a quarter of an hour on the clock Manu equalised with an impressive volley after controlling a high ball on his chest.
Depor were looking the better side though, and Bodipo and Verdú both had goals ruled out for offside. And Bodipo felt himself unlucky not to be given a penalty when Mario brought him down, Cata Díaz blocking Lafita's follow up with the keeper beaten. Juan Rodríguez headed wide after the restart, and Licht could have scored for the locals when he ran through only to shoot in to the side netting. But with ten minutes to go Pato brought down Bodipo as he chased Valerón's through ball, and Sergio stepped up to slot home the winner from the penalty spot.
