Numancia distanced themselves from the bottom four after a 2-0 victory over Getafe. Heavy snow falls the day before put the game in doubt, and dense fog added to the problems. The game swung the home side's way though when Abbondanzieri was sent off in the third minute for bringing down Brit in the area, Barkero scoring the resulting penalty past substitute keeper Jacobo. And ten minutes from the end Aranda got the second to take the Soria based side to within a point of their opponents in the table.
