Down in the lower reaches of the table, Espanyol stay in the relegation spots after drawing 2-2 with Almería. Kalu Uche scored twice at the beginning of the first and second halves to give Hugo Sánchez's side a two goal lead.

But Diego Alves had to be at his best to save from Román, and Pellerano headed a Luis García free kick off the line before Román got one back on the hour mark.

Uche almost completed his hat-trick when he rounded Kameni outside of the area, Chica clearing his wide shot off the line.

And in the fourth minute of injury time Nico Pareja saved a point, beating the keeper with a well struck free kick. Espanyol have still not won in the last two months, but this was like a victory for Mané's side.
