Recreativo beat Sporting Gijón 2-0 on Sunday evening to move five points clear of the drop zone. The Andalusians took the lead when Jorge turned an Adrián Colunga cross in to his own net in the fifth minute under pressure from Camuñas. And Sisi brought a good save out of Sergio Sánchez as the home side dominated the first half.

Sporting's exploits in the cup seemed to be taking their toll though, and Preciado made two changes at half time to try and revitalize his side. However ten minutes after the restart Colunga connected with a long punt from Iago Bouzón to poke the ball past the keeper and wrap up three important points for his side.
