Betis got back to winning ways after five league games without a victory, Chaparró's side beating Valladolid 1-3 to move to within two points of their opponents in the table.
Sergio García set up Xisco to give the Andalusians the lead with a quarter of an hour on the clock. However six minutes later Luis Prieto headed in a Pedro Léon free kick to equalise, and Oscar Sánchez hit the post before the half time break.
Sergio García took advantage of Jonathan Sesma's bad back pass on the hour mark though to restore the lead for the visitors. And with the game already in injury time the Spanish international striker repeated the act to hand the locals their fourth defeat in a row.
