Osasuna got the second half of the season off to a good start with a 1-1 draw at Villarreal. The locals had only picked up five points from their last six games, and they needed a win not to lose more ground on the leaders. And they got off to a brisk start, Llorente's flick being blocked by Flaño early on with the keeper beaten. And with just under half an hour gone Rossi picked up a pass from Cazorla to turn a shot past Roberto and open the scoring.

The visitors desperately needed points themselves though, and Plasil brought a good save out of Diego López soon after the restart. Roberto was called in to action at the other end to tip a shot from Marcos Senna on to the bar and then to save from a deflected Rossi free kick, but a minute or so later Cygan could only deflect Delporte's cross to Dady, who had the easiest of tasks to turn the ball in to the net.

After that the home side did their best to restore the lead, but Roberto held fast with some good saves, particularly form Cazorla. The draw means that Villarreal stay in fifth spot, and Camacho's side move off the bottom of the table, above Mallorca on goal difference pending their game on Sunday.
