Deportivo drop a couple of places to eighth after drawing 1-1 at Mallorca. The locals were still smarting from their cup defeat against Barcelona, and Scolari tested Aranzubia early on. Riki and De Guzmán brought saves out of Aouate at the other end though as honours were shared in the first half.

Ten minutes after the restart Aduríz headed the locals in to the lead from a Corrales cross, but Verdú saved a point for the Galicians from the penalty spot after Nunes had brought down Lassad inside the area.

The home fans protested Ayza Gámez's decision though, and they were even more unhappy when the referee sent off Corrales for a second bookable offence late on. Two more points dropped, and the Balearic Islanders stay in the relegation spots as a result.
