The Saturday evening match between Deportivo and Osasuna ended without goals, a result which neither side really wanted. A victory could have taken the Galicians up to the UEFA Cup spots, and the visitors needed the three points to move away from the drop zone.

The locals dominated the game from start to finish, De Guzmán going close with an early overhead kick, and Lassad heading a long cross against the upright a few minutes later. Valerón was unlucky to have a penalty appeal turned down after Flaño brought him down late in the first half, and Lafita and Verdú both fired long shots just wide of the post after the restart.

Roberto and his defence held fast though for a fourth game in a row without defeat, a point which keeps them just above the bottom four for the time being. Depor themselves stay in eighth place, still a point off the European places.
