Villarreal stay in fifth spot after a 1-1 draw at Racing Santander, a true-to-form result given that the locals hadn't won in the Sardinero stadium for around three months, and the visitors hadn't clocked up an away victory for ten weeks.

Zigic headed the Cantabrians in front from Serrano's cross midway through the first half, the referee waving away appeals for offside. It was the Serbian striker's fifth goal since joining from Valencia in the winter break, and he is single-handedly getting Racing's season back on track.

Shortly before half time though Cazorla equalised following a corner, the Spanish international leaving Colsa for dead before driving an angled shot across Toño.

Zigic could have restored the lead when he headed straight at Diego López after the restart, and Rossi should have score following a corner when he found Toño instead of the net from close up. But this was doomed to be a draw right from the start, and both sides accepted their fate.
