Atlético Madrid came back twice to beat leaders Barcelona 4-3 in a thrilling match on Sunday evening. The home side felt themselves unlucky not to be ahead in the fourth minute when Heitinga bundled the ball in to the net only to be ruled offside incorrectly by referee González Vázquez. But a few minutes later Henry latched on to a loose ball to open the scoring for the visitors, and on the half hour mark Messi made a difficult play look east to score his side's second.

Forlán got one back soon afterwards though with a long shot over the head of Víctor Valdés, and Agüero equalised shortly after the break. Agüero had a penalty claim turned down and Forlán missed a sitter, but once again Henry restored the lead after a generous pass from Gudjohnsen.

Valdés had to be on his toes to keep out an Agüero header a few minutes later, but with ten minutes to go Forlán made it all square again from the penalty spot after Henry pushed over Sinama. And with the game coming to an end Agüero battled past Puyol and drilled a low shot wide of the keeper to take the three points. It was a fourth match without a win for Pep Guardiola's side, who have dropped eight points on Real Madrid in the last three weeks. Atlético themselves move up to fifth.
