Real Madrid moved to within four points of Barcelona pending their game on Sunday after a 0-2 victory at Espanyol. Casillas was in action early on to keep out a Román header from a Luis García free kick, and later on to save from Nené.

Up to that point Kameni had hardly been tested, and Juande Ramos broyght on Guti and Marcelo. And the move worked within minutes, Guti firing in a free kick which went in off Kameni and the post to put the visitors ahead.

Five minutes later Raúl added a second, running on to Marcelo's cross to shoot low past the keeper. And although Tamudo and Nené tried their luck after that, Madrid held fast for a tenth win in a row in the league. The result leaves Espanyol further down in the drop zone, and their brief recovery against Barcelona last weekend is already history.
