Málaga moved up to a heady fifth place in the table after a 1-2 victory at Getafe. It was a bad-tempered match though, with referee Alvarez Izquierdo showing fourteen yellow cards and sending off Cuadrado and Soldado as players square up to each other throughout the ninety minutes.

With half an hour gone the visitors took the lead, Eliseu turning Duda's cross past Jacobo from close to goal. And Baha made it two on the stroke of half time after collecting a long free kick and shooting under the legs of the keeper.

With a quarter of an hour to go Cuadrado was sent off for a second bookable offence after bringing down an attacker on the edge of the area, and Contra got one back from the resulting free kick.

But Getafe's comeback ended when Soldado was also red-carded near the end for an elbow on Apoño, and they have now gone six games without a win. With the big five looming on the horizon, Víctor Muñoz's job is on the line.
