Getafe drop to within two points of the bottom three after a 1-0 defeat at Valladolid. The locals had the better chances in the first half, with Oldoni firing over and Pedro León testing Jacobo with a couple of free kicks.

Víctor went close again after the restart, but the visitors held on until Mario was sent off for a second bookable offence with a quarter of an hour to go. And with three minutes left Canobbio ran on to Víctor's pass to score the winner, taking his side to within four points of the European spots.

It was a seventh match in a row without a win for Víctor Muñoz's side, and the coach has to get a result soon if he is to stay in his job any longer.
