Sevilla hold on to third place after coming from two down to draw 2-2 at regional neighbours Málaga. Manolo Jiménez's side could have gone ahead early on, Squillaci having a goal disallowed for offside and Romaric shooting straight at the keeper. But veteran striker Salva opened the scoring for the locals with twenty minutes gone, and then ran on to Miguel Angel's pass to make it two later in the first half.

Fernando Navarro hit the bar with a long shot soon after the restart though, and Kanouté got one back after Perotti set him up with a quarter of an hour to go. The locals were left with ten men after Calleja was sent off for a foul on Capel, and with four minutes left on the clock Luis Fabiano headed Adriano's cross past Goitia to save a point for his side.
