Espanyol fought back with ten men to clock up a feisty 3-3 draw against Mallorca, although they remain six points away from safety at the foot of the table. Tamudo was unlucky to have a goal disallowed for a non-existent offside, and then see another shot come back off the post in the opening minutes. But shortly before the interval Arango opened the scoring with an angled free kick which caught Kameni by surprise.

José Callejón (whose twin brother was on the away team bench) came on for the injured Rufete just before the interval, and ten minutes after the restart he picked up Tamudo's pass to equalise. However Cléber restored the lead after the defence failed to clear a cross, and when Moisés Hurtado was sent off and then Jurado made it three, the visitors seemed to have wrapped things up.

At this point many of the disappointed local fans began to leave the ground, but they were stopped in their tracks when De la Peña picked up Nené's cross and rounded Corrales before firing a reverse angle shot past Aouate. With seven minutes to go the locals were awarded an indirect free kick some six yards out, and de la Peña rolled the ball to Nené for him to fire a shot in to the roof of the net to level the scores once again. It was an important point against a direct rival for the drop, but there is still a long way to go if the catalans are to save themselves this season.
