The relegation battle is hotting up already, and Osasuna moved to within a point of safety after a last minute 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Espanyol. It was a tense game, and only a Nekounam header and a Sergio Sánchez free kick caused any problems for either keeper in the first half.

After the restart Nené and Callejón brought good saves out of Roberto. Pandiani fired a deflected shot just wide and Nekounam tested Kameni, but with the match in the second minute of injury time Nekounam headed the only goal from Puñal's free kick to take the three points. It was a blow for Pochettino's side, who are now four points adrift at the foot of the table.
