Málaga missed out on a chance to return to the European spots when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mallorca on Saturday evening. The best chance in an other wise dull first half fell to the visitors, Castro failing to find the target on the stroke of half time.

However the goals came soon after the restart, Apoño thumping home a spectacular volley after Ayoze cleared a speculative cross to give the Andalusians the lead, and Arango equalising with a well struck free kick a few minutes later. Goitia did well to save from Keita near the end, and Luque fired a last shot wide before both sides settled for a point.
