Bottom club Numancia appear to be heading back to the second division at the first attempt after a 2-1 defeat at Almería. Bellvis had to clear an effort off the line before Kalu Uche gave the home side the lead in the seventh minute after Negredo set him up from right of the area. But Goiria came close to equalising with a header which veteran keeper Esteban tipped over the bar.

Crusat tested Juan Pablo at the other end, and shortly before the break another good run by Negredo, this time down the left wing, laid on the second for Soriano. The visitors didn't give up the fight though, and Esteban had to make two or three saves before Goiria headed one back from Cisma's cross near the end. An important victory for Hugo Sánchez's side though, and they now appear to be set for another season in the top flight.
