The bottom two clubs Numancia and Recreativo played each other this weekend, with the locals running out 1-0 winners to move above the Andalusians in the table. The home side had by far the better chances, but they only won it thanks to a controversial late penalty which referee Pérez Lasa awarded even though the foul by Bouzón on Brit appeared to be outside of the area. Lamas was sent off for arguing, and when things calmed down Barkero converted the spot kick to take his side to within two points of safety.
