Getafe head up the first division pending Barcelona's Monday night game against Sporting after thrashing Racing Santander 1-4. As luck would have it, Michel's side were returning to the ground where they saved themselves in the last match of last season, and although Ustari had to keep out Geijo early on, Rafa headed them in to the lead from Adrián's corner soon afterwards.

After that though the star of the match was Soldado, who picked himself off the ground to score his side's second after Adrián's shot was blocked, and then added a ythird after good work down the wing by Dani Parejo.

Lacen got one back before half time after Geijo set him up, and Arana almost got another with a free kick after the restart which Ustari did well to touch on to the bar. But a few minutes later Soldado completed his hat-trick after picking up Parejo's through ball to beat Toño from a wide angle, and it was game over. A team from Madrid top the table, but not the one we expected!
