Third placed Valencia dropped further behind the two leaders after a 3-0 defeat against Zaragoza on Saturday evening. Despite missing the injured Villa, the Chés dominated the early play, Roberto having to save from Mata, Zigic and Pablo. With four minutes to go to the break though César could only punch clear a long cross, and Diogo picked up the rebound and drilled home a long shot. Before the half time whistle the visitors were left with ten men after Zigic picked up a second booking for a rash tackle on Contini, and seconds after Joaquín missed an easy chance, Edmilson sent Arizmendi through for him to score the second. A few minutes later Jarosik poked home Gabi's corner for a third, and Zaragoza had a vital win which takes them four points clear of the drop zone.
