Sevilla are back up to fourth after a 3-0 victory over Sporting Gijón, the Andalusians in charge from early on when Kanouté opened the scoring after Juan Pablo failed to hold on to Dragutinovic's free kick. The visitors found themselves with ten men when Bilic picked up a second booking on the half hour mark, and soon after the restart Luis Fabiano headed a second from Adriano's cross. Manuel Preciado's side had José Ángel sent off as well for a second bookable offence, and young full back Juan Cala made it three late on with his third goal in as many games following another Dragutinovic free kick.
