Tenerife picked up a vital point in a 2-2 draw with Almería, although they still need to avoid defeat at Valencia next weekend if they are to have any chance of staying up. Some brilliant goalkeeping by Diego Alves prevented Román and Nino from giving the locals the lead early on, although he could nothing to stop Marc Bertran's shot from entering the net on the quarter hour mark after some deft play by the team captain. Two minutes later though Piatti controlled Corona's pass and held off Pablo Sicilia to equalise, and it was back to square one.

The second half started at a frantic pace, Aragoneses saving from Soriano and Diego Alves keeping out Ayoze and Román. Dinei missed an easy chance as the locals took control, but they were caught out on a quick breakaway when Mbami passed through for Crusat to run on and fire a shot past the keeper. That silenced the crowd for a few minutes, but in the third minute of injury time Dinei headed on Marc Bertrán's long throw, and there was Nino to hook the ball in to the net. A last minute life-line for the Canary Islanders, but a chance missed to put some air between themselves and their closest rivals.
