The play-off finals began today, with Barcelona Athletic beating city rivals Sant Andreu 1-0 to take a slim advantage in to next week's the second leg. Luis Enrique's side had the better of the first, Morales having to save from Thiago and Nolito going close. But things appeared to be heading for a draw until two minutes from the end when Nolito was fouled in the area and Jonathan soriano stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.
Alcorcón also have the edge over Ontinyent after a 1-1 away draw in the other final play-off. The Valencia regional side took the lead ten minutes in to the second half when Montañés headed on an Alex cross allowing David Torres to score. But with ten minutes to go Borja beat Rangel with a long free kick to take his team closer to a first ever promotion to the second division. Having knocked city neighbours Real Madrid out of the cup as well, this is already the best season in their history. (13.06.10)
