Second division B play-offs

The league stage of the four regional divisions came to an end, with the top four of each division being drawn into four seeded cross-regional groups of four teams.
The qualifying teams from each regional division were as follows:

Group I (North West): Barakaldo, Cultural Leonesa, Compostela, Pontevedra
Group II (North East): Barcelona B, Espanyol B, Hospitalet, Terrassa
Group III (Central and East): Real Madrid B, Valencia B, Hércules, Getafe
Group IV (South): Motril, Ceuta, Almería, Mérida Promesas

Zaragoza B actually finished in the top four of their group as well but were not allowed to compete due to the relegation of their A team, and the same applied for Universidad Las Palmas, who converted last year to the B team of the also relegated Unión Deportivo Las Palmas.

The four cross-regional groups were made up as follows (see links for results and match reports):

Group A: Ceuta, Hércules, Terrassa, Barakaldo
Group B: Mérida Promesas, Compostela, Valencia B, Barcelona B
Group C: Motril, Cultural Leonesa, Getafe, Hospitalet
Group D: Almería, Real Madrid B, Pontevedra, Espanyol B

This year there were four B teams competing for promotion, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Espanyol.

Each team played home and away over a period of six weeks, and the winner of each group was promoted to the second division A. The successful clubs were Terrassa, Compostela, Getafe and Almería.
