Pichichis
The strikers are back! No less than nine goals in all by our top goalgetters, with Rivaldo moving three clear at the top with another goal in Europe, albeit in the UEFA cup and not the Champions League. His manager actually had the cheek to leave him on the bench at the start of this Sunday's league game against Osasuna, but had to bring him on at half time as the rest of the bunch were ineffective. A goal from Javi Moreno in the UEFA takes him level with Guti and Michel in second place, and Raúl joined Bolo on nine with one of his team's goals at Leeds. Oviedo's keeper Esteban saved a Mendieta penalty at the weekend, so when he took a second one in the same match he hit it a bit harder. Esteban got to that one as well, but couldn't stop it crossing the line for the Valencia captain's eighth of the season. His teammate Juan Sánchez joined him and Bolic after finally breaking his goal drought earlier in the week in the Champions League. Dely Valdés got a pair for Málaga on Sunday against Alavés and Catanha is now forgotten. Kluivert got two in the week as well, one in the UEFA cup and another in the league, to make his manager think twice about transfer listing him. Both players join Tristán and McCarthy on seven.
