Pichichis
The last round of matches of the millenium took place midweek, with the top two Pichichis facing each other. Rivaldo came out on top with two goals, both of which somewhat fortunate, to end the year on top of the pile, although Javi Moreno did get one back from the penalty spot later on. The top two have opened up a four goal gap on the following group, with Michel joining his team mate Bolic in third place on 12 goals after getting a consolation goal against Real Madrid in the local derby. Catanha and Raúl kept up their push on the leaders with a goal apiece, taking them both up to eleven. Raúl's left footed high volley was one of the best of the season. Kluivert caught up with Guti on ten with one of Barcelona's three against Alavés, and Carew moved up with his third goal in the league in a row. He will have to miss a game now though, as the referee sent him off for celebrating. (21.12.00)
