Pichichis
A quieter week at last for the top strikers, with only four teams in action in the Spanish cup midweek as well as the full programme of weekend's league games. Only Deportivo made it through to the second round of the cup without too many problems, Pandiani taking advantage of a rare start to add two more goals to his total. Barcelona put out a weakened side and paid the price, losing to second division B opposition Figueres without getting a goal in 120 minutes. Rivaldo missed that match and also the weekend's game against Valladolid as he was off playing for Brazil in the World cup qualifiers, and that gave a chance to Saviola to stake his claim for a regular first team spot. He scored two, taking him to second place in the league Pichichi chart on six goals, level with Tote who missed a last minute penalty in the same match. Kluivert did convert his penalty kick, bringing him level at the top of our table on an all club competition basis with Diego Tristán and Raúl, who once again scored against Zaragoza. Keeper Juanmi must have nightmares about the young striker, who has scored eight out Real Madrid's ten goals in recent years, although Yordi's volleyed goal and Acuña's late winner may have given him a quieter night's sleep this time.
