Pichichis

With the two week holiday period now over, players returned to duty full of energy (and Christmas pudding) raring to go. Many of the leading contenders for the Pichichi title got their names on the scoresheet, starting with Raúl and Morientes for Real Madrid and Makaay for Deportivo (from the penalty spot) on Saturday night. Raúl moves on to 20 goals in all competitions, and with ten now in the league, he draws level with Urzaiz and Catanha, who also added to his tally on Saturday. Edú got the other for Celta in that game and is proving to be one of the revelations of the season. Kluivert and Saviola scored a goal each on Sunday as Barcelona bounced back, and Luque and Moisés both got their eighth of the season in their respective games. Finally Darío Silva comes back in to the chart after scoring a late penalty to finish off his old side Espanyol. The year has got off to a good start. (07.01.02)
