Raúl is back! After two weeks out with a muscle
injury he returned as a second half substitute to lead Real Madrid's fightback
against Alavés, scoring the goal that put them in front after Guti had
equalised. Hierro got the last one from the penalty spot, his first of the
season and the 102nd of his career. Diego Tristán got Deportivo's
solitary goal in their victory over Zaragoza which took them back up to third,
and Kluivert scored Barça's equaliser in their Champions League game
against Roma. The four leaders open up a five goal gap over the rest, with
Moisés joining the group on thirteen after poaching two goals in
Sevilla's 0-4 trouncing of Mallorca. Edu and Tamudo both scored their eleventh
goals of the season, the former fairly meaningless after Betis put four past
Celta but the latter securing victory for Espanyol from the penalty spot.
Finally a word for Yordi, who moved on loan to Blackburn midweek and made his
debut in the league cup final at Wembley. A cup winners medal within four days
of joining. Not a bad start! (25.02.02) |
