Pichichis

Roy Makaay got his 28th goal in the league this weekend, and is now assured of the European "golden boot". The Dutch striker has had a phenomenal year, and may well be leaving Spain this summer to go to Germany or England. Depor won't be too concerned though with Diego Tristán and Luque waiting in the wings.

Raúl has not had the best of seasons, but he has popped up to score vital goals whenever he has been needed. With his superstar colleagues snuffed out by Celta's defensive tactics this weekend, he was there to save a point which may in the end win Real Madrid the title.

An average weekend with 27 goals in all in the ten league games. Dely Valdés got his first away goal in the league this season from the penalty spot, but they still lost to a Barça side for whom Saviola opened the scoring. Pandiani got his eighteenth in all competitions with a second half penalty to leave Rayo down in the second division, and Fernando did the same to Alavés with his second half strike. Elsewhere Etxeberría kept Athletic in line for the last UEFA spot, and Javi Guerrero scored again in Racing's goal feast against Espanyol. (03.06.03)
