Back to business at the
weekend after a two week lay-off for international matches, although to be
honest it was not much of a lay-off for many of the players on international
duty. Real Madrid manager decided to rest Ronaldo after his gruelling trip to
Brazil, although he did come on in the second half with his side struggling
against Albacete. You could see he was not used to the geography around the
substitutes' bench though, banging his head on the dug-out roof as he stood up.
Although Madrid won in the end, he didn't score and is being caught in the
table by Eto'o, who hit the winner for Mallorca at Real Sociedad, and by Mista,
who scored two goals for Valencia in their draw at Murcia. Elsewhere Sonny
Anderson got his revenge against his old club Barcelona with a last minute
winner, and Makukula proved he is one to watch for the future with another
headed goal as Valladolid went on to end Atlético Madrid's run of five
wins in a row. (24.11.03) |
