All eyes this weekend were
of course on the "derby" match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, where the
visitors defeated their arch-rivals for the first time in twenty years in a
league match. Inevitably it was Ronaldo who won it for them with his eleventh
league goal this season against his old club, keeping him well clear at the top
of the Pichichi table. Meanwhile Fernando Torres was showing that his lack of
form in the midweek game against the city rivals was just temporary, the young
striker getting two more, including another penalty, in his side's victory over
Espanyol to close the gap behind Ronaldo to two goals. Elsewhere Correa scored
the only goal as Mallorca won their fifth game in a row, and David Villa makes
it into our chart for the first time with a penalty for Zaragoza at Sevilla.
