Ronaldo and Raúl were
at it again this week, both scoring in their 3-0 win over Valencia in the cup
and Ronaldo making it 22 for the season with another goal against Villarreal at
the weekend. Between them they apparently have the second highest tally in
Europe, only bettered to date by Celtic's Larsson and Sutton, and Ronaldo is a
firm candidate already for the golden boot. Salva moved up to third in our
chart, although the two goals he scored against Valladolid in the league didn't
even help his side save a point. Kluivert's strike at Sevilla did more than
that though, it probably saved his manager Frank Rijkaard after Barcelona were
beaten by a David Villa penalty in their midweek cup tie against Zaragoza. And
talking of Sevilla, Baptista and Darío Silva both scored in their side's
cup rout of Atlético Madrid midweek, making the loss of Reyes to Arsenal
that little bit easier to bear for the fans. . (26.01.04) |
