One Madrid based sports paper pointed out on Sunday morning that the Camerooni striker had scored more himself in the league than the whole of his his ex team Real Madrid had done, although by Sunday evening that was no longer true thanks to a hotly disputed Figo penalty and another goal from Michael Owen, who came on as substitute to score his fifth in six games.

Baptista also added to his tally from the penalty spot as Sevilla started off the league phase of the UEFA cup with a victory against Aachen.
