Valencia have a plethora of
strikers this season, but it appears that David Villa is coming out on top
after scoring four times in the league in as many matches. The ex Sporting and
Zaragoza forward got two more in Tuesday night's game at Barcelona (including a
penalty) to move to the top of our chart this week. Oliveira is in third spot
after opening the scoring for Betis, but Diego Tristán saved a point for
Deportivo with a dubious penalty later in the first half, all the more
controversial because Tristán stirred things up beforehand saying he
wanted to help out his old side Sevilla, Betis's arch city rivals. Elsewhere
Baiano picked up a brace to take Celta top of the league and send Villarreal to
the bottom, and Raúl also scored twice the following day to lead Real
Madrid's comeback against Athletic Bilbao. (23.09.05) |
