The league returned after a
two week lay-off for international matches, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both
playing on Saturday. The Blaugrana seemed to be on their way to victory after
Eto'o equalised Valerón's early strike and Ronaldinho got two more,
including another from the penalty spot, but goals from Munitis and
Rubén Castro saved a point for the Galicians. Later in the evening Real
Madrid had no problems dispensing with their city rivals Atlético,
Ronaldo opening the scoring from the penalty spot and adding a second later on
as they won 0-3. Spain's five goal hero Fernando Torres couldn't break his duck
in Madrid derby matches, nor could Kezman, in large part responsible for Spain
finishing second to Serbia in their World Cup qualifying group. Earlier in the
day Nené scored for Alavés to earn his side a point against
Villarreal, and on a low scoring Sunday, an Oliveira penalty put an end to
Getafe's unbeaten record this season. (17.10.05) |
