An unscheduled round of
games midweek, day 11 being brought forward by a fortnight to allow Luis
Aragonés to prepare Spain's World Cup qualifier against Slovakia. It was
a high scoring couple of days, with 17 in the five games on Wednesday and
another 12 on Thursday. Ronaldinho moved up to second in our chart behind his
team mate Eto'o after scoring his fourth penalty of the season, one that he
himself provoked in controversial circumstances after opponents Málaga
looked like they might save a point. Later in the evening Raúl got his
fifth in the league, although it came too late to prevent a 3-1 defeat at
Deportivo. José Marí got Villarreal off to a good start in their
game at Betis, and although Oliveira levelled the scores soon afterwards, the
visitors ended up winning 2-3 thanks to a Riquelme penalty. And Luis
García and Diego Milito return to our chart after scoring for their
respective sides, who both drew 1-1. (28.10.05) |
