Pichichis

A week for picking up loose ends, with Sevilla and Espanyol competing in the fourth day of the league stage of the UEFA cup, and Zaragoza and Atlético Madrid playing their postponed Copa del Rey games. Saviola has only got one goal in the league for the Andalusians, but he got two more against Vitoria Guimaraes in Europe to take him in to our chart for the first time this season. And Ewerthon also leaps in to the rankings after scoring both Zaragoza's goals in their cup match at Xerez, and then getting another in the league at the weekend. Under pressure coach Víctor Muñoz will be eternally grateful.

Ronaldo returned to the fields of play this weekend after another lay-off, and immediately made his mark in the match against local rivals Getafe. In his case though it was not enough to save his manager, Vanderlei Luxemburgo being given the boot by Real Madrid less than 24 hours later. David Villa stays above him in the table though after getting one of Valencia's goals at Espanyol, and Baiano, Diego Tristán (from the penalty spot) and Kezman were also on target on another relatively high scoring weekend.
