Pichichis

Two strikers in the headlines this week, Fernando Torres and Saviola. The former has not been hitting the target much recently, but things could have changed after he scored once in the cup against Osasuna, and then twice in the league at Celta. A timely return given the upcoming friendly international against England? And the latter has been making the best of the chances Frank Rijkaard has given him, getting both goals in the cup tie at Alavés and then coming on to score against neighbours Espanyol at the weekend. It didn't do much good though, Luis García and Tamudo on the scoresheet as the Periquitos beat their arch rivals in Montjuic for the first time in five years.

Kanouté and Van Nistelrooy top our chart though, the Sevilla striker converting a penalty despite a defeat against Mallorca, and the Real Madrid man getting the only goal as his side beat Zaragoza. Other famous names found the back of the net this weekend as well, including Diego Forlán, Morientes and Soldado, who got two for Osasuna as they thrashed Betis 5-1. (15.01.07)
