A bit of a slow down this
week, with only 18 goals in the league and nine more in the four cup quarter
finals. Most of the scorers in the cup got their first of the season, in
particular all four for Deportivo, but Güiza was on target again as Getafe
trounced Osasuna for the second time in four days. Some say the striker was
unlucky not to get a call up for Spain.
The absence of Ronaldinho
and Kanouté may have contributed to the low tally at the weekend,
although none of the top three sides could manage a goal between them. Valencia
came out the best of the lot, Morientes scoring twice as they beat
Atlético Madrid 3-1. Elsewhere there were goals for Luis García,
Sinama-Pongolle and Robert, who has now scored four in his last three league
games. (05.02.07) |
