Pichichis

Mixed results for the three Spanish sides in the Champions League midweek. Raúl played a captain's innings, scoring twice as Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 3-2 (Van Nistelrooy got the third). A good result as well for Valencia, the two David's Villa and Silva getting the goals in a 2-2 draw at Inter Milan. But a disaster for Barcelona, Deco's early goal getting cancelled out by two from Liverpool.

All four La Liga teams made it through to the last 16 of the UEFA cup later in the week after home wins against their respective opposition, Celta's Nené in particular scoring to take his tally to 7 in all competitions.

The goal count was down again at the weekend though, the final figure of 17 the second lowest of the season. Of our Pichichis, only Fernando Torres, Baiano and Tamudo added to their totals. (26.02.07)
