Pichichis

The cup returned midweek, and although the game between Betis and Sevilla didn't finish, Kanouté did add to his total (in fact his goal sparked off the disagreeable scenes which led to the abandonment of the Sevilla players).

He wasn't on target at the weekend, but two of his colleagues were as the Andalusians came back from a Ronaldinho goal down to beat Barcelona and move to the top of the table. It could have different though if Ronaldinho had not missed a penalty, and "El Gaucho" would have then been level with Kanouté for the Pichichi title.

Diego Milito did convert his penalty though to consolidate third place, even though there was some question about the validity of his fall in the area. And Van Nistelrooy also tucked home a spot kick to stay fourth, although in the end it was only enough to save a point for Real Madrid against poor neighbours Getafe, who had taken the lead through a Madrid fan Güiza.

Elsewhere there were goals for Morientes, Tamudo, Jankovic, Diego Forlán and also Sinama-Pongolle, who converted a penalty, missed another and then limped off with an injury which could keep him out for some time, and all that in just half an hour! (05.03.07)
