Van Nistelrooy is still on
track for the Pichichi in his first season in Spain after scoring for the sixth
game in a row. Raúl was also on target as Real Madrid held on to top
spot with a 3-1 win over Deportivo. A Ronaldinho strike kept Barcelona level
with their rivals on points though, and Luis Fabiano and Kanouté both
scored as Sevilla beat Zaragoza 3-1 to keep within two points of the leaders.
Fourth placed Valencia are out of the running however after losing 2-3 to
Villarreal, an early David Villa penalty overturned by two goals from Diego
Forlán, who has now clocked up nine in four recent away games.
Two from Fernando Torres at
Nàstic kept Atlético a point ahead of Villarreal in the last UEFA
cup spot, and Tamudo scored the winner for Espanyol at Recreativo, his 110th
for the Catalans now only one away from Marañón's club record.
Elsewhere Baiano tucked away a last minute penalty to give Celta hope of
survival, and Zigic is back in our chart after getting one of Racing's goals
against Levante. It could be his last appearance for the Cantabrians though
after breaking his cheekbone in the match. (28.05.07) |
