Pichichis

Five players have opened up a bit of a gap over the rest after this week's games. Sevilla's Kanouté and Luis Fabiano lead the pack after they both scored in their Champions League victory over Steaua midweek, and again in their league win over Valencia. Atlético's Agüero and Forlán are right behind, Kun getting two in the UEFA cup draw at Lokomotiv Moscow and Diego scoring in that game and against Levante at the weekend. And Messi is also on nine after converting a penalty against Almería on Sunday, his seven in the league making him the current Pichichi.

Henry scored his fifth of the season in the same game, and Arango and Güiza are also on five after they got Mallorca's goals in the 2-2 draw against Espanyol. Real Madrid stay top though after a 3-1 win over Deportivo, Van Nistelrooy converting a penalty after Raúl had opened the scoring, and Raúl was also on target in the Champions League earlier in the week to put in yet another claim for a return to the Spanish international side. Luis Aragonés, are you out there? . (29.10.07)
