Lots of action midweek, with
matches in both Champions League and the Copa del Rey. Valencia's 0-0 draw at
Chelsea was their last game in Europe this season, but the other three Spanish
sides roll on after topping their groups. Luis Fabiano and Kanouté were
on target as Sevilla won 0-3 at Slavia Prague, and Raúl and Robinho were
amongst the scorers as Real Madrid cruised to a 3-1 victory over
Lazio.Barça went a goal down to Stuttgart, but they came back to win
3-1, with Eto'o getting his first goal since returning from injury and
Ronaldinho also on the scoresheet.
Five first division sides
were involved in the Spanish cup on Wednesday, although the only one of our
Pichichis to feature was Atlético's Diego Forlán. And the
weekend's league fixtures produced a disappointing 19 goals, including two from
Nihat as Villarreal got their campaign back on track, and one each for Van
Nistelrooy and Diego Milito in their respective matches. (17.12.07)
