Pichichis

All three Spanish sides taking part in the UEFA Cup won their last midweek group games 2-1 to finish top of their respective mini-leagues. None of our leading Pichichis were on the scoresheet though, and neither were they in the three remaining fourth round first leg cup matches which took place on Wednesday.

The last matches of 2007 took place at the weekend, with Kanouté closing to within two goals of his Sevilla team mate Luis Fabiano after scoring one of his side's four against Racing. A Nihat strike saved a point for Villarreal against Recre, and Diego Milito got one from the penalty spot in Zaragoza's 2-2 draw with Valencia. Tamudo was on target as Espanyol came from behind to beat Atlético 1-2 and move above their opponents up to third in the table, and Güiza scored a consolation goal as Mallorca lost 3-1 at Osasuna.
