Things got serious in the cup this week, with an all-first division last 16 for the first time in around 40 years. Many coaches used the occasion to give a run out to lesser used players, although Henry, Pavone and Oliveira all scored for their respective sides.

A high scoring round of matches at the weekend, with 32 goals in all. For once Luis Fabiano didn't score though, and Van Nistelrooy, Diego Milito and Nihat all scored twice to close up on the Sevilla striker in the race for the Liga Pichichi. Valladolid's Llorente went one better though, clocking up a hat-trick against Recreativo, and he comes in to our chart for the first time this week. So too does Pavone, who rounded off a good week with two more against Getafe. Elsewhere Agüero, Güiza and Rossi were also on their side's respective scoresheets, the latter from the penalty spot.
