Pichichis

The goals in the midweek cup quarter finals could be counted on the fingers of a hand of a man with no thumbs (De la Red, Silva, Smolarek and Tchité), but the strikers made up for it at the weekend with 32 in all (four men with no thumbs or otherwise two four-toed sloths!). Getting back on track (thanks - editor) Luis Fabiano is now well out in front after scoring his 23rd in all competitions, a controversial late penalty at Osasuna, although Diego Milito is matching him in the league after scoring his 14th at Racing. Real Madrid are building up an unassailable lead at the top of the table though, Robinho scoring twice either side of a goal by Rossi (see Zamora section for more on that one) in a 3-2 win over Villarreal. Elsewhere Luis García (Espanyol's that is) and Arango both come in to our chart this week after getting their eighth of the season, both having scored six times in the league and twice in the cup.
